With its high-quality circular sawing machinery for solid wood and panel processing PAUL supplies more than futureproof technology. Profit from maximum equipment up-time, extensive know-how and a fast, straightforward back-up service. Thanks to these qualities the South German machinery manufacturer has been recognized as a market leader in the timber processing industry for 90 years. Come and see for yourself at LIGNA in Hannover from May 11-15 (hall 12/stand C06). A new multirip circular saw featuring a combined chain and roller feed system will be displayed alongside well proven technologies and further developments of existing models on an area of approx. 450 square meters.
To best meet the increasing customer requirements, PAUL developed a completely new machine specifically for ripping dried hardwoods. A key issue thereby was the design of the feed system which plays a decisive role in processing solid wood. Basically a distinction is made between two types: roller feed system (very robust, cost-effective, low maintenance) and chain feed (highly accurate workpiece guidance). After many test series and trials the PAUL engineers decided to benefit from a combination of the advantages of both systems. This marked the birth of the new model “Q” ripsaw. The “Q” stands for quality which is to underline the high cutting quality achieved. From the very beginning the main focus has been laid on the requirement for a so-called glue-line precision cut, i.e. cut edges that are ready for gluing without the need for after-treatment. In addition to the new type of feed system the machine is characterized by an upgraded control with touch screen which has proved very reliable in operation on other machine types. Specific optimization software is available to minimize waste and so to maximize the profit for the customer. Features like remote maintenance, software-based machine monitoring or millimeter-precise saw positioning are standard.
The high cutting quality of the new model will be demonstrated live at LIGNA on a Q-805 equipped with OPTIRIP CNC control system.
In the sawmilling sector PAUL will be presenting a model S-922 heavy-duty multirip/resaw and the well proven KME3 edger/ripsaw. The S-922 equipped with chain bed, roller table, alignment chain and saw shaft transport carriage is designed for ripping cants up to 225 mm thick at an opening width of 900 mm. The KME3 with MAXIRIP CNC control covers nearly all customer requirements. It can be loaded manually, semi or fully automatically. Combined with further handling components the KME3 turns into an automatic edging and multi-ripping system for maximum yield optimization.
Also on display will be a K34G/1500 multirip saw with an opening width of 1500 mm for ripping panels with a fixed saw configuration.
From the cross-cut product range PAUL will be showing the RAPID high-efficiency cross-cut line with PAUL Wood Scanning System, buffer station and sorting conveyor. The RAPID is distinguished by its sharp acceleration characteristic and maximum uptime. Various further developments, such as the vacuum belt, water-cooled feed motor and optimized saw rocker make the RAPID even more efficient which will be shown in impressive demonstrations.
For cutting medium-sized to large timber sections, a C 14_KE II CNC cross-cut system will be on display. It is designed for industrial timber processing and suitable for cutting heavy and difficult workpieces where high demands are placed on production speed and accuracy.
